hearts & cubes
I originally created these designs for an Altenew video that came out in February on their YT channel.( You can see it below on my channel…) So, it was perfect timing to create a Valentine’s card for my husband! He’s got it in the office on a shelf <3 <3 <3
I used the Cube builder stencil with some unusual ink choices to create a cool tone-on-tone background. And then I paired it with a doubled-up Illusion Heart in teals. Red and teal is such a yummy color combo! The sentiment label comes from the Eucalyptus Jar stamp set. Oh, and finally, a reason to use up some heart-shaped enamel dots!! (I seriously never use the shapes! LOL!)

mountains to climb
For my second take, I created an abstract mountain shape using the Geometric Landscape stencil, clear embossing and some ink blending. Crazy cool, right? I took some liberties with the circle and sentiment shapes to finish off the landscape. The enamel dots just felt right to help finish off the design – does it look more like an other-worldly terrain with multiple moons?

Here’s the companion video that will walk you through creating both designs! I shared tips on using “regular” craft supplies to make slimline projects. In other words, you don’t need special stuff to make slimline designs! In most cases, you can make it work with what you have 😀
