Do you need a quick card this week? Well, if not, keep this one in your arsenal ’cause it doesn’t get much easier than this!

By Nicole Watt a Quick and Easy card that will still impress...; Gorgeous Grunge, Six Sided Sampler, Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon @PMRetreat #stampinup

Let some layers of white allow the faux ombre technique shine through!

Maven’s Mastery Tips

– Stamping Off = Ombre: All I did to achieve the progressively lighter look (or Ombre) to the Gorgeous Grunge stamp was to ink up in Melon Mambo, then just keep stamping without re-inking. Melon Mambo is one of those really saturated colors that let’s you re-stamp a few times before the color left on the rubber is too light.

– Punch up with Punches and Pop-ups: I broke up the otherwise monochrome design with some deliberate pops of contrasting color in two of the three hexagons. Sticking with the same flower stamp on the back two helps pull the design through. Then, pop up the sentiment on some “pop-ups” otherwise known as Stampin’ Dimensionals.

– Anchor the design with another line: This just wouldn’t look complete if the Blackberry Bliss ribbon wasn’t there. In a way, it helps support the hexagons, otherwise they’d just be floating. (And we all know hexagons can’t float!)

How did I pick the colors for today’s design? Well, it’s no secret that any colors in the same color family (Brights, Regals, Neutrals, Subtles and In Colors) look good together, and these are mostly Brights. But, if you really want to get creative – download my Color Combinations Chart and pick some adjacent colors for something new!
