Creating Love That Fits In A Pocket

Hey everyone! Thanks for hanging in there, and welcome back for another Pals Paper Arts challenge. As you know, life ebbs and flows, and right now we seem to be in a major swell with our business, so, I’m juggling the best I can. I know you all understand, but it feels good to get out here and share some with you!

This week’s sketch challenge is brought to you by the talented Amy Lazzell. Isn’t it fun? This is our first official square design for the year.

Pals Paper Arts 288 - play with us today! (www.palspaperarts.com)

Whenever I see square designs, I instantly think of the lovely 3x3 “love note” form factor. They can be just as difficult as larger cards, and can contain just as much detail and extra stuff. For this week, I decided to keep it pretty simple, but it’s stunning none the less! I’m pretty sure this will end up in someone’s pocket sometime soon! What a fun way to surprise someone you love!

Maven’s Mastery Tips

USE your DSP!

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again! Cut into that gorgeous stuff! I promise, it won’t scream when you do. DSP was made to be cut, used and admired by its recipient. So do it! Today’s design features not one, but TWO layers of the Going Places DSP.

Flip It, Flip it Good!

Did you notice? I flipped today’s sketch! I knew when I decided that I was going to use the Going Places product suite that I would use one of the sentiments across the top, and the compass rose. Worked out pretty good, huh?! Remember, sketches are for inspiration, so flip it, turn it upside down – do whatever works for you!

Time to Coast...

With our coasterboard! I love this stuff. It’s nice and thick, but still cuts out great with punches and dies. The Compass Rose is stamped in Archival Black right onto the coasterboard, and then cut with the 2″ Circle Punch. Of course, since a 3×3 note can’t be mailed, I decided to add one of our metal rimmed pearls. It’s a little bulky for regular mailing, but for this, it’s perfect!

Calling All Creatives!

It’s your turn to play along with the Pals! What will you design using this week’s sketch? Remember, it doesn’t have to be exact – just use the sketch as a guideline and see where it takes you! You can post to a blog, sites like SplitCoast Stampers, or even Pinterest, then link back to the challenge!
