fresh start

The theme for this release is “fresh start”. It includes fresh, bold sentiments, a floral builder or two, new vases, coloring stencils, embossing folders… you get the picture – lots and LOTS of great stuff to make LOTS of beautiful things!

start at the very beginning…

For a fresh start, let’s start at the very beginning – with the letter A. I am seriously hoping we get through the whole alphabet because this set is just too much fun! All Things A has a gorgeous floral adorned jumbo A (with accompanying die) and sentiments that feature “A” words in inspiring phrases.

I paired it with the Ribbon Waves 3D Embossing Folder which is probably going to be my new obsession. It is truly mesmerizing, and the perfect (and super-quick) background texture for just about anything!

blocked & blended

I don’t know about you, but I have a goal to send out more “just because” and encouragement mail to my friends this year. That’s why I added Block Sentiments to my collection. It is full of beautifully worded and designed encouragement sentiments. I was able to line up a whole bunch of them and stamp and clear emboss them three times on Warm Sunshine cardstock. Then, I blended the edges with Caramel Toffee ink for an emboss resist look. Even the label sentiment came from this new set!

you can’t kill paper orchids

I LOVE orchids. I also have killed every orchid I’ve ever owned. It is a sad truth 🙁 Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for orchids, our current home doesn’t have any good east or south-facing windows, for me to try again… LOLOL!!! I guess that means that I’ll just have to create these paper ones with the Spotted Orchid builder stamp set.

I paired the set with the twig diecut from Season’s Tweetings, and a sentiment from Block Sentiments!

more varied vases!

If you love the original Versatile Vases set, then you are going to love Versatile Vases 2 even more! They are bigger, bolder, and beautiful! I did some masking on this one to give it a solid vs. glass appearance. It pairs beautifully with the recent Just Leaves die set and has beautiful, heartfelt sentiments.

Thank You!

    • I love how you mentioned that you have killed every orchid you’ve ever had…me too! They are absolutely gorgeous flowers, but so picky with their optimal environment. Your orchid is stunning on your card!

  1. Your use of yellow is so eye catching, I rarely use yellow and I am inspired! The spotted orchid looks great on your card, so much beauty here.

  2. You had me at the orchid and then I saw the silhouette foliage and vase in yellows and grays. Sigh. I see yellow and gray are the 2021 pantone combo colors . Well done.

  3. Love the colors, works so well with the name of the release – fresh and new. Beautiful cards and your use of black is something I need to try.

  4. Interesting color combos. I wouldn’t have thought to use those colors together but I love the look you achieved. Last two cards are my favorite but you did a fantastic job creating all of them. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hi, Nicole – Love that you appear to be using the Pantone colors of the year. I absolutely adore the first card – the one with “Attitude,” so to speak. I also love the yellow card with the Block Sentiments. Your work is amazing.
Please don’t stop giving us these awesome bits of inspiration!!

    ps Happy New Year!

  6. What creative cards. My favorite is the last card. I just love the stenciled background and that lovely vase with greenery!

  7. I think the Grey and yellow is so 2021. Lots of great items in the new release for starting of 2021. The orchid is over the top for me, beautiful cards.

  8. I like the stamps used for a full background. Thinking of doing something like this for just because or thinking of you cards.

  9. Love that yellow with the grey. I remember one of the first outfits I ever made myself was grey with yellow trim, hummm I think that was 70 years ago.

  10. Lovely cards. I like the color combinations you have used. Love your comment about the orchids and your orchid card is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent and ideas with us. 🙂

  11. Wow! Fantastic cards! I love the CAS look of the second card with the all yellow background! Your sentiment really pops!
