become an educator

Have you heard of the Altenew Educator Certification Program (or AECP)? I started this program in February 2019 as a way to familiarize myself with Altenew products and to learn and refine my crafting skills. I worked through all of the classes in about 6 months, working at my own pace, to finally become a Certified Educator.

Since becoming an Educator, I’ve partipated in these hops, have been asked to be a Guest Designer (and now a Design Team Member), and even created my own Altenew Academy class – Mission: Inspiration.

There are many reasons for applying to the AECP program. Perhaps you’re just looking to expand your skills and knowledge, or maybe you want to do local classes, sponsored by Altenew. Whatever your reason might be, I encourage you to explore the opportunity and see if it’s right for you!

mega thanks

There’s nothing like an Altenew “Mega” die to make a quick and easy card! The Mega Thanks fits right across a landscape-oriented card front leaving little room for anything else. But, that’s just perfect!

from the scrap bin

Both the background and the panel I used to cut the sentiment die came from my scrap bin! Can you believe that the Feeling Dotty Stencil piece was from over a year ago? I used it to create the video from this AECP project.

The background panel was left over from some recent experimenting I was doing with creating alcohol ink background panels with Yupo paper and the Artist Marker Refills. I wanted to spice it up a little, so I used the Bursting Dahlia stencil and some isopropyl alcohol to remove and change the ink, leaving the dahlia image behind.

I added just a bit more texture with some of the Satin White sequins. They add just the right amount of bling without taking away from the rest of the design.

  1. I hadn’t thought of using a stencil and isopropyl alcohol to lift alcohol ink. I look forward to trying this! Thanks for sharing your beautiful and inspiring card!

  2. Glad to know the stamp itself had the dots as when I first looked I was thinking WOW cool idea how did she do that.
    Awesome card.

  3. Love this card!!! I also thought the dahlia was vellum, and that is why I appreciate the time that each designer puts in and creates written details or videos, as I am starting to learn such glorious ways to craft with my ink and paper. Thank you for sharing and inspiring!

  4. WOW. These are my favorite color combinations. The soft outline of the flower with the watery look is just perfect.

  5. Nicole that is a stunning card. I love how you use all the same colors and are able to achieve details with alcohol and dies.

  6. I struggle with backgrounds so I always love seeing cards with pretty backgrounds. Your card has a gorgeous background and you make it look so easy!

  7. I love that you used all elements from other stuff for your fabulous card! These colors are so calming and wonderful! Thanks so much for all you share! You are an amazing artist and one of my favorite Altenew educators!
