It’s an Educator Blog Hop!

Occasionally, Altenew organizes a special blog hop featuring the Altenew Certified Educators. Now that I’m one of them, I get to join in on the fun! Our theme is “For the Love of Flowers” so, get ready to see lots of ideas featuring Altenew’s signature product line – their floral stamps! If you are arriving from fellow Educator Maryam Sharara you’re in the right place! If you’d like to start from the beginning, head over to the Altenew Card BlogThere’s a Linky Party too, so link up your favorite recent floral creation and you could win one of the giveaway prizes!

Raiding Scraps

As you might know, one of my favorite ways to showcase florals is with geometrics. I love the way the two play together and really creates a refined, modern look.

Now, to be honest with you, I started this project for something completely different, and didn’t have the florals added. Well, it seemed kind of plain, so I raided my scraps stash and found all of these lovely floral bits left over from other projects.

I’m so glad I raided the stash, because I might not have come up with such a wonderful floral spray! I am guilty of sticking with a single floral stamp set per project. However, I learned that paring different sets together can create some amazing results! The florals come from three sets – Retro Plantines, Painted Flowers, and Lacy Scrolls. They look so good together, right?!

Love Altenew? Check out all of my projects that feature this amazing company!

Inlaid Squares Look

The other cool detail of this project is the overlapping squares. Believe it or not, they’re not overlapping, but inlaid. I have a video here to help you achieve the look!

Thank You!

Time is precious and I'm truly grateful that you choose to spend a few minutes of your day with me! If you are in love with my projects and would like to see more, please support my business by following me on Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest.

  4. They do look great together. Right! I would not have thought of putting Painted Flowers on a retro card. But it really works!

  5. Beautiful card! Great use of shapes on your card. I don’t think to use them as a background but it works really nicely. Thanks for sharing.
